Moments/Monumentum

The sculpture of a Teuton with a bugle once stood here, a reminder of fallen Postillon Soldiers from the First World War. The pedestal on Carthausplatz in Frankfurt/Oder has been empty for a long time and Michael Kurzwelly now wants to dedicate it to everyone. Christian Hasucha and Michael Kurzwelly are collaborating and questioning the concept of the hero by adding a staircase and a stylized human silhouette to the plinth, turning it into a pedestal for everyone.

Christian Hasucha and Michael Kurzwelly won the "Art instead of Monument" competition, organized and sponsored by "KUNSTGRIFF. Sie? kulturalna - Netzwerk für Kultur e.V." and Magdalena Scherer, Kulturbüro Frankfurt (Oder) 2024.
